Main activities of the “Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica Elettronica e Informatica” of the University of Catania (DIEEI-UNICT) are teaching and research mainly focused on the following areas: Information Technology; Automation, Robotics; Electrical Systems; Power Electronics; Microelectronics; Instrumentation, Micro and Nano Sensors, Rapid prototyping of Sensors, Multi-Sensor Systems; Telecommunication.

HELIOS is a care center for elderly aimed to provide cares, assistance, services and taking care of social inclusion (the kind in Italy called “Residenza Sanitaria Assistenziale”).
